Little Tots Rated Outstanding by Ofsted: A Celebration of Excellence in Early Years

The report highlighted that “from the moment they arrive, children are extremely happy and confident,” and described how staff “expertly adapt the curriculum to meet every child’s individual needs.” The inspector also praised the use of Makaton to support communication, the focus on emotional wellbeing, and the breadth of learning opportunities – including weekly sessions with a dedicated sports coach and rich cultural experiences.

At the heart of this success is a passionate and experienced team. Staff were commended for their role-modelling, their support of children’s communication and social development, and their deep understanding of how young children learn best.

The inspector truly got to observe a typical day at the nursery and see our amazing bespoke curriculum in action – including the enrichment activities our staff work so hard to provide.

“It was a truly amazing day where we were able to showcase everything we offer at Little Tots. The inspector had a calm, friendly approach that put everyone at ease. She checked in with us regularly, listened carefully, and gave time for thoughtful responses – which made a big difference to our confidence and enjoyment of the process.

I’m especially proud of the response around our parent partnership. The inspector had a lovely conversation with one of our parents, and it was clear how much that relationship matters – both in the setting and at home. A special thank you also goes to our area managers for their support on the day and every day.”
