Little Owls Nursery, part of the Little Nurseries Group, is celebrating the results of its recent Ofsted inspection – with the setting officially rated Good in all areas. The report recognises a warm, inclusive, and nurturing environment where children are supported to thrive socially, emotionally, and academically.
The inspection, which took place in August 2024, praised the team’s well-developed curriculum, positive staff relationships with children and families, and the nursery’s clear focus on building communication and language skills. Inspectors described children as “eager to arrive”, noting how warmly they are welcomed by their key person and how confidently they engage with learning opportunities both indoors and out.
“A clear reflection of our commitment”
Gary, Director of Little Nurseries, shared his pride in the team:

Calm confidence on the day
Lisa, Nursery Manager, reflected on the inspection itself:
“It was a really positive day. The inspector helped everyone feel comfortable and at ease, and took the time to observe the children and get a real sense of what we do here.
I was especially proud when she commented that the children were ‘eager to arrive and greeted warmly at the door’. That’s the kind of environment we aim to create — safe, welcoming, and full of opportunities to explore and grow.
All of the staff were fantastic. They showcased their knowledge with professionalism and care, and I couldn’t be prouder of the team.”
The report also noted that staff are well supported with professional development, the nursery environment promotes physical development and emotional wellbeing, and there is a clear commitment to continual improvement from the leadership team.
Parent partnerships at the heart
Parent feedback echoed the inspector’s findings, highlighting the strong communication and positive relationships between families and staff:
“Preschool have been amazing with my little boy since he transitioned in May. He thoroughly enjoys it and always comes home telling me new things he’s learnt.”
