Little Memories Day Nursery is proud to announce that our manager, Annette Ellis, has been awarded Nursery Manager of the Year at the prestigious national DNO (Day Nursery Owners) Awards. The awards were highly competitive, with over 200 entries from across the UK. Annette was one of just 27 finalists, with three nominees in each of the nine categories, making her win even more remarkable in such an oversubscribed and challenging field.
Annette has been in the childcare sector for more than 25 years, and her leadership has been the cornerstone of Little Memories’ success, where she has managed for 19 years. Despite the increasing challenges faced by nurseries in providing high-quality childcare, Annette has consistently delivered an outstanding level of care and support. This was further recognised when the nursery achieved an Outstanding Ofsted rating in December 2022.
At Little Memories Day Nursery, children are at the heart of everything. The nursery offers a unique, child-centred curriculum that encourages exploration, creativity, and hands-on learning experiences. Whether through outdoor play or fostering problem-solving skills, the nursery’s approach ensures that every child feels valued, safe, and supported in their development.
Upon receiving the award, Annette shared:
“I can honestly say I love coming to work. My team makes that easy for me—they are kind, caring, and supportive. Being nominated for Manager of the Year was a great feeling; it was so nice to be recognised for what I enjoy doing every day. Winning was surreal as I didn’t expect it. I’m proud of myself and my team for all they do. A massive thank you to Gary and Tracey, who nominated me, and to everyone who voted. It is a privilege to work at Little Memories Day Nursery.”
Luke Moore, Group Director at Little Nurseries, commented:
“A brilliant achievement and testament to the excellent way in which Annette runs the setting, with endorsements from parents, children, and staff alike!”
