Designed by experts. Loved by children.
Approved by parents.
At The Little Nurseries Group, we know a strong early years foundation isn’t built by chance – it’s built with intention, care, and a deep understanding of how children learn best. That’s why we’ve created The Little Curriculum: our own bespoke early years framework that blends expert knowledge with the joyful, everyday magic of nursery life.
Rooted in the EYFS and enhanced by the real-world experience of our practitioners, The Little Curriculum supports each child’s emotional, social, physical and cognitive development — all through purposeful play, enriching experiences, and warm, responsive relationships.
Designed for children. Evidenced for inspection.
The Little Curriculum wasn’t created to tick boxes — it was created to give every child the best possible start in life. That said, it naturally aligns with and exceeds Ofsted’s Early Years expectations, because it’s built on strong pedagogy, clear purpose and professional expertise.
You’ll find:
A clearly sequenced, age-appropriate curriculum from birth to school
Intent, implementation and impact woven into real experiences and interactions
Language-rich environments that nurture curiosity, communication and confidence
Cultural capital explored through meaningful, real-world learning
Ongoing observation and assessment that support every child’s individual journey – and are regularly shared with families
Our “Little Learning Journeys” and curriculum documentation clearly evidence your child’s development — not just for Ofsted, but for you.
The Little Curriculum supports your child from babyhood to pre-school, with a clear focus on the things that matter most to you:
Confidence and independence – helping your child find their voice, build relationships, and trust themselves
Real learning through play – no worksheets or pressure here. Just well-planned, joyful learning experiences
Personalised progress – every child is treated as an individual, with milestones and next steps tailored to their pace
School-readiness without the rush – we gently introduce early literacy, numeracy and problem-solving in ways that feel natural and fun
You’ll see the difference in their confidence, language, resilience, and sense of self — and you’ll be part of the journey every step of the way.
The Little Curriculum draws on the latest thinking in early childhood education, alongside years of experience from our own senior team. It’s mapped across the seven EYFS areas of learning, but we deliver it through our own unique strands, known as:
Little Me – supporting personal, social and emotional development
Little Talkers – developing communication and language
Little Movers – building physical confidence and control
Little Learners & Thinkers – nurturing early literacy and curiosity
Little Investigators – exploring maths, science, and the world around us
Little Explorers – learning about nature, people, communities and diversity
Little Creators – expressing themselves through music, art, drama and imagination
Each strand is underpinned by intentional, play-based learning that evolves with your child’s stage and interests.
We’re proud that our curriculum and practice have been recognised through:
Consistently strong Ofsted outcomes across our settings
High parent satisfaction in our annual family surveys
Local authority quality audits and CPD partnerships
Internal training awards for curriculum delivery and leadership

Home and nursery, working hand in hand.
At The Little Nurseries Group, we believe that parents are a child’s first and most important educator. That’s why we provide clear, age-specific Learning at Home Guides to support your child’s development beyond the nursery day.
Each guide is tailored to your child’s stage of learning and includes simple, meaningful activities you can enjoy together — from language games and sensory play to early maths, mark-making and emotional development.
We encourage families to share what they see at home — from proud moments to new skills — and we include these contributions in your child’s Learning Journey and progress reports. It means we’re working as a team, with your child at the centre.
Because when nursery and home pull in the same direction, children thrive.
It’s built around children, not checklists
It’s custom-created by real practitioners – not pulled from textbooks
It’s flexible enough to celebrate individual pace, while structured enough to guide progress
And it’s woven into everything we do – from circle time to lunch to the stories we read at the end of the day
Our nurseries don’t just deliver a curriculum — we live it.
We’d love to show you how The Little Curriculum supports children to thrive.
